Fashion and Culture

We live in a world that has different kind of cultures. Culture is a very important part of a person,it defines  and makes them who they are. The world that we live in always likes experiencing peoples cultures in a different way such as wearing their traditional clothes, eating their food, speaking their language and getting involved in celabrations that they usually have. It is not a bad thing because they get exposed in knowing how other cultures operate as a whole, and they get to know their cultural lifestyle.

Fashion and Culture is the in thing in our country known as South Africa. We are a cultural diverse nation that allows any individual from any country to be part of us and learn any culture they want. African countries have a variety of traditional clothes that they wear to symbolise their cultures,to them it is fashion.  Fashion to them is not all about money but its about emabracing their cultures, showing off their bright african colours and their style of wearing. What matters most to them is wearing their clothes that they consider as fashion. Their style of cultural clothing is used or worn in different kind of occassions such as runways, wedding celebrations and cultural events. This becomes facinating to peole who are mostly intrested in knowing other cultures and those who are learning about them. People from foreign countries that is SADC countries mostly love wearing their cultural attirres it could be when shopping, working, going to school ect. Their style of wearing includes long dresses, stylish hats and accessories and wearing the full outfit they realli look good and stunning. To them this defines who they really are and that weather its fashionable culture or not they still follow it.

  1. I myself come from a SADC country and that is Malawi. It is true that we love to embrace our cultures and wear out traditional clothes whenever we want to. what i do not like though at times is that our attires are similar, from the picture above can you tell me which country is that ?

  7. Going back to the international day that was held at the University of Johannesburg, the cultural fashion was on people's tongues so that proves that people still have the love for experiencing different cultures and it interests them,, this kind of fashion will be big in the long run
