Think red..... Love green that was the theme of this year's Durban July. It was nothing but one of the best events held where a lot of people got to showcase a series of fashion trends. Celebrities, people from around the world and other people who love being in the fashion scene were all gathered together to have fun in the racing course and compete against each other with the fabulous dresses, suits and gowns that were worn in the event.

Well not only this years main focus was on the gowns and suits but it was on the green side of fashion. We all know that when we mention green we think about nature and the environment with regards to recycling, reusing etc. People were given the opportunity to be creative and design outfits for the Durban July in recycled material and guess what, they did it.They used a number of recyclable materials that were different and they made something of it. People looked fab and stunning in those outfits, a competition was held and the best dressed person was given a prize. So its pretty clear that fashion is not only about the perfect fabric but it can be also about the best picked recycling material and how one puts it together,Green Fashion it is.....

I must say that this was a good idea and a way to save our enviroment but are there going to be more events that will encourage people to reuse, reduce and recycle? adding to that were there other clothes that were should at the fashion week that were recycled?
ReplyDelete@mary it was avery good idea because it shows that peole know how to be creative in a god way.I think that as this event became positivce the will be other events that will encourage this, yes they were and people bought them in large numbers because they were fascinated about the work and talent that other people have out there.
