Tlale makes it to the Big Apple

http://www.davidtlale.com/index.html
David Tlale is considered  to be one of the best fashion icons in South Africa. He is known for the good work that he does  in regards with the clothes that he designs for people to buy and for people to wear and walk with in the run way. So for the very first time David Tlale is the  the first South African designer to be given a slot in the New York Fashion Week. Previously local designers who have been to the Big Apple, including Tlale, have only been able to showcase as part of a collective or on the fringes of the main event. David has given himself a big break to SA fashion to go and explore the beauty of other fashion in other countries. As we all know that Tlale launched one of his brand or made a partnership with legit known as the Van Der Tlale line took centre stage and people responded positive to it.David Tlale started of as nothing but is making something big of himself so he said, the New York Fashion Week for  will be a dream come true as his brand will be well known and hopefully people from abroad will love it and respond positively to it. The show will take place @ 7:30pm (NY time) on the 9 of September 2010 at a venue called THE BOX.We congratulate Tlale and look forward to the reviews of the show from one of the worlds four fashion capitals. We can now truly say South African fashion has arrived on the World Stage!!!!!!

Fashion credit goes to........

It has been said that credit is mostly given to people who don't deserve it, so who really deserves the credit in the fashion industry? This is a continuous process that happens in our everyday life where you find that people are mostly credited for someone else's good work. Who can you consider to be the most important person in the fashion industry, is it fashion designers or the people who sew the clothes? We often ask ourselves where do clothes come from and how do they go about designing them and are fashion designers sure that people will love the clothes that are designed by them. People are different and have a different style in clothes designed by fashion designers. Well i have to agree that they both play an important role when it comes to fashion  because they make sure that they produce the best clothes that one can wear and they are also able to follow up the latest fashion trends that come and go. Getting to know the good work behind this depends on them because they have to make sure that the final product expected by people needs to be there,be seen,be bought and be worn.

So who would you consider to be the best in the industry?

Green Fashion

Think red..... Love green that was the theme of this year's Durban July. It was nothing but one of the best events held where a lot of people got to showcase a series of fashion trends. Celebrities, people from around the world and other people who love being in the fashion scene were all gathered together to have fun in the racing course and compete against each other with the fabulous dresses, suits and gowns that were worn in the event.

Well not only this years main focus was on the gowns and suits but it was on the green side of fashion. We all know that when we mention green we think about nature and the environment with regards to recycling, reusing etc. People were given the opportunity to be creative and design outfits for the Durban July in recycled material and guess what, they did it.They used a number of recyclable materials that were different and they made something of it.  People looked fab and stunning in those outfits, a competition was held and the best dressed person was given a prize. So its pretty clear that fashion is not only about the perfect fabric but it can be also about the best picked recycling material and how one puts it together,Green Fashion it is.....

Deadly Winter Trends

This year’s winter has been a quite an interesting season for most people even though it was cold as hell. People usually have no choice on what to wear when seasons change and they end up confusing clothes with seasons, this is one of their biggest mistakes in the fashion world. There are certain clothes and colours for every season but usually you get some of the people who choose not to conform to this norm. Deadly winter trends have been worn this winter whereby a lot of people unnecessarily mixed matched clothes. Colour blocking is one of the examples of confusing winter.

Colour blocking has its own way of being nice, stylish and colourful with bright colours especially in summer. Some of the commonly acceptable colours to wear in winter include brown, grey, black, etc. and the colours to be avoided in winter include pink, yellow, orange, green, etc. So people need not to necessarily colour block during winter because they end up wearing deadly trends that are unacceptable. Well no matter what people wear they might still not understand the proper dressing codes of seasons only a few will do and deadly trends will always be there.
